Some situations are clear. You lost your key or remote, it broke, it’s worn out, the buttons stopped working, or the remote no longer opens the doors. If you’re down to your last working key, this is also the time to act — making a spare now is faster and far cheaper than starting over after you lose it. Other times the key isn’t the problem at all. The car has power and the dash lights come on, but it won’t start. A security or immobilizer light stays on, or the system isn’t communicating the way it should. These are electrical and communication issues — not something a new key alone will fix. That’s where a real diagnostic finds the true cause before any key is cut.
